Connect “In-Person” Events Set for May 20th
CWIMA Expands its Reach with Two New Connect Groups
 

May 11, 2021 – Dallas, TX. – For the first time since the Pandemic began, most of the United States-based Christian Women in Media Association (CWIMA) Connect Groups will meet “in person” on Thursday, May 20th. Groups around the country will make valuable media connections and will be inspired by a Keynote Inspirational Speaker, equipped by a Professional Enrichment Speaker and led in song by a well-known Worship Artist.

Debuting this month are two new connect cities located in Towson, Maryland (outside of Baltimore) and Austin, Texas. The Towson group is led by Cassandra Ferguson, the CEO of Elevation Global Media Group, a ground-breaking 21st century media agency. Cassandra provides professional, personal development and media training. Maryland’s CWIMA meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. with the meeting located at 1 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suite 116A in Towson.

 

Inspirational Speaker and Teacher, Gina Wright oversees the new Austin, Texas CWIMA Connect Group and will be providing the inspirational message at the first meeting. In addition, Gina is a Life Breakthrough Coach who has a passion to assist women in moving from a place of feeling “stuck” or “surviving” to a place of “moving forward” or “thriving.” The Austin media professionals will gather at 6:30 p.m. at the Olive Garden located at 12827 Ranch Road 620 North in Austin.

Altogether, nine Connect groups are meeting nationally. The others are located in Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, Nashville, TN, Savannah, GA, Lake Charles, LA, Hot Springs, AR, and Dallas, Texas.Kezia Alford will lead the worship at the February Connect event. Alford is an award-winning international Recording Artist/Singer/Songwriter who signed with MC1/Copper Lily Records and Sony Music. She is also a Psalmist and a Prophetic Worshiper who founded the P31 “Power in Purpose Women’s Conference.” In addition, Kezia is an author at both Thomas Nelson and Harper Collins Publishing and is a Co-Leader at RMI Church in Atlanta.

Dallas, led by Award-Winning Author, Speaker and Television Host Tracey Mitchell, is featuring Award-Winning Author Karol Ladd as its inspirational speaker. Ladd has authored over thirty-five books including The Power of a Positive Mom, and her most recent book, Positive Leadership Principles. Karol is known as “The Positive Lady” and her heart’s desire is to inspire women with a message of lasting hope and biblical truth. The Professional Enrichment speaker will be Award-Winning Author and Publisher Mary Hollingsworth, who has penned over 120 books, many of which have been on best-seller lists over 100 times. Total sales of her books have approached eight million. The Dallas Worship Leader is Singer/Songwriter, Cherilyn Johnston. Cherilyn is the Band and Worship Leader at the Lone Star Cowboy Church in Red Oak, Texas. Her recent recording, Out of Darkness is a country western swing project, presenting favorite hymns and original songs in a joyful and refreshing sound. Dallas will have a plated served luncheon with parking included. The Dallas Connect begins at 11:30 a.m. and the cost is $35. Registrations must be received by Noon on Tuesday, May 18th. No walk-ins allowed.

“We are glad our country is getting back to normal and that we are seeing more of our Connect groups meeting,” said Suellen Roberts, Founder of Christian Women in Media. “I know it will be a great night around the country and I’m sure everyone who attends will be blessed.”

Christian Women in Media meets every Third Thursday, alternating between in-person and online events on Zoom. The next online international Connect Group meeting on ZOOM is scheduled for June 17th at Noon.
