Christian Women in Media Helps Hurricane Victims at Thanksgiving
CWIMA Members Assist Lake Charles Relief Efforts
November 20, 2020 – Dallas, TX. – Christian Women in Media (CWIMA) members are giving back this Thanksgiving by coming to the aid of the people of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Lake Charles was the hardest hit by Category 4 Hurricane, Laura, in late August, then targeted again by Hurricane Delta in October.
The two hurricanes reportedly caused over twelve billion dollars of wind and surge damage affecting at least 500,000 residents in southwest Louisiana. Many residents are still homeless. In an effort to help, CWIMA has set up a link on its home page where members can give any amount to help struggling residents of Lake Charles with their rebuilding needs. “By doing this, we are helping one of our own CWIMA members,” said Suellen Roberts, Founder of Christian Women in Media. “Pastor and Worship Leader, Cathy Banks, lives in Lake Charles and we want to show our love to her by providing some relief for her community.”
CWIMA Members, or anyone who would like to provide a Thanksgiving gift to the Lake Charles Community can go to www.cwima.org/support where there is a clearly labeled link to donate. All proceeds given through this link will go directly to victims of Hurricane Laura.
