Divine Intervention: After Car Bursts Into Flames, Man and His Bible Remain Unscathed
After a Jeep was sideswiped off of Tennessee’s State Route 385 and burst into flames, a man walked away relatively unscathed with the only other item that survived the engulfed vehicle — his Bible.
Car accidents happen all of the time. For example, cars often break down due to faulty vehicle belts and hoses, if not changed regularly. But in the case of this particular crash, it was a happening of sheer misfortune and what many would dub as an act of divine intervention.
“I just saw GOD on 385,” one witness posted on Facebook after the incident.
At the time of the accident, the Jeep was moving along 385 in Memphis when it was knocked off the road by another vehicle. The car then tumbled down a hill, where it hit a pole, immediately bursting into flames.
Several drivers stopped and ran to the scene of the accident in order to assist the driver. They soon learned that the man was trapped in the driver’s seat, with the steering wheel pressed against his chest.
Luckily, authorities quickly arrived on the scene, and police officers rescued the man from the quickly incinerating vehicle.
And somewhat miraculously, the man left the scene in non-critical condition. The only other thing found in the pile of incinerated metal and ash was the man’s Holy Bible, virtually untouched from the flames. Witnesses couldn’t believe their eyes.
“THE ENTIRE EXPRESSWAY STOPPED and people ran from their cars trying to break the windows and open the doors of this man’s car to free him,” wrote Anita Irby, a witness on the scene of the accident. “As they were, the others went up in prayer for God to deliver this man from the paws of the devil.[…] None of the flames touched him.”
