Inside Taylor Swift’s $70 Million Real Estate Portfolio

Whether or not you believe in the prosperity gospel, there’s no denying the fact that Taylor Swift is blessed (or #blessed, as the kids say). Swift has been an inspiration to young girls and women all over the world, and she’s proven that you can still become a massively successful pop star without selling sex and objectifying yourself.

And this May, Billboard released its annual list of top-earners in the music industry, and Swift was right at the top of the list, beating out other mega-celebs like Kenny Chesney, One Direction, Adele, Billy Joel, and U2. In fact, Taylor Swift earned twice as much as the nearest runner up, earning $73.5 million in revenue in 2015 compared to Chesney’s mere $39.8 million.

That might seem like a lot of money — and it definitely is — but to put that figure in perspective, T-Swift’s real estate portfolio is valued at an additional $70 million.

She owns a $2 million three-bedroom luxury penthouse in downtown Nashville, purchased when she was just 20 years old. The pop star also owns a Manhattan penthouse with an estimated purchase price of $20 million. Her New York City abode has nine bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and 2,000 square feet of terraces and balconies.

For most Americans, purchasing a home is a major life event. Perhaps because one in three home buyers are purchasing their first home, at least 59% of home buyers say they wish they understood the terms of their mortgage better. Yet for Taylor Swift, buying a new mega-mansion is as routine as releasing a new award-winning album.

After flipping a 4,440-square-foot mansion on Nantucket Sound in Massachusetts, Swift purchased a gorgeous $17 million, 12,000-square-foot seaside mansion in Rhode Island. And if that’s not enough, Swift recently took Vogue inside her massive Los Angeles home.

“The Beverly Hills home is a mash-up of vintage country à la Nashville and quirky touches like arched doorways, patterned wallpaper, antique chandeliers and mirrors, a beautiful old wooden piano, and cat ceramics on shelves lined with classic books and her favorite Byredo candles,” Vogue reports.
