January 15, 2016 – Dallas, TX – On Thursday, January 21, 2016, the Christian Women in Media Association (CWIMA) will host five regional connection events across the country in Dallas, New York City, Nashville, Hollywood and Minneapolis. Each regional event will feature a keynote speaker as well as a media seminar.

The purpose of CWIMA is to advance professional Christian women in TV, radio, Internet, film, publishing, music, the arts and entertainment. The organization uses the regional connections as a way to provide opportunities for industry networking, professional equipping, and spiritual refreshment. “The A-list platform we are providing is a perfect opportunity for women in media to both learn and network,” said CWIMA President Suellen Roberts.

The Southwest/Dallas CWIMA regional connection will start at 5:30 p.m. with networking in the Bent Tree Country Club at 5201 Westgrove Drive, Dallas, TX 75248. At 6:00 p.m. actress, author and talent coach Lar Park Lincoln will conduct a media seminar. You may remember her as Linda Fairgate on Knots Landing. She provides audiences with inspiration as a breast cancer survivor and her experiences as a widow with young children. At 7:00 p.m. dinner will be served and veteran radio and TV talk-show host Suzie Humphries will share her media experience that spanned being fired, broke, and petrified when she became an expectant mother at 40. Singer/composer Johanna Cappon is the musical artist for the evening.

The Southeast/Nashville CWIMA regional connection starts at 6:00 p.m. with networking at The Historic Carriage Lane Inn at 337 East Burton Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37130. At 6:30 p.m. Keith Stancil will lead a media seminar on “Platform Vs. Stage – Finding Fame in Jesus’ Name.” He will examine the key elements of successful platforms that offer biblical solutions to problems. Following dinner at 7:00 p.m. a media panel will discuss various aspects of the entertainment industry. Artist manager Diana Stancil of The Hub will explain the role of an artist manager; Fatima Eid of Crown Entertainment will give insight on DVD distribution; and Young Filmmakers producer Diane LeJeune will explain the best way to share stories to inspire others. The musical artist is Ryan Corn.

The Northeast/New York CWIMA regional connection starts with networking at 6:30 p.m. at the Shelter Studios & Theatres located at 244 West 54th Street, in New York, NY 10019. At 7:00 p.m. the “Queen of Clean” comedian Donna East will combine music and comedy while explaining how she got into comedy. After dinner is served at 7:30 p.m., keynote speaker Crystal Berger will speak on “What You Sow Grows: Using Your Voice in Media to Serve Others.” Berger is a national award-winning TV journalist and author of the book Be Extraordinary: Claiming a Life of Purpose, Passion and Prosperity.

The Midwest/Minneapolis CWIMA regional connection will be held at The Woman’s Club of Minneapolis located at 410 Oak Grove Street, Minneapolis, MN 55403. The chapter will start its meeting at 5:45 p.m. with a media seminar where CWIMA Midwest Regional Director Gaye Lindfors will interview Marianne Milano, the Audience Engagement Director for 98.5 KTIS Radio/Faith Radio Network. Milano’s life includes childhood abandonment and experiences as an adolescent-at-risk. The goal of the interview is to provide strategies for success and how they relate to the story God is writing through you. Networking follows at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7:00 p.m. Then Jo Bender, radio host for the Faith Radio Network – AM 900 and 90.7 FM in the Twin Cities, will present the keynote address. Jo will talk about “Getting to God’s Story by Telling Our Own.” Composer, recording artist, and author Mary Beth Carlson is the guest artist for the evening. She has written and performed music specifically for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

The West Coast/Hollywood Chapter of CWIMA regional connection will be held at Carla’s Café in CBS Studios located at 4024 Radford Avenue, Studio City, CA 91604. Members will share time to connect and network starting at 6:00 p.m. followed by dinner. The program will be a round-table format including the following table hosts: Bella Shaw, TV Host, journalist, and former CNN anchor speaking on “Producing Videos for Success!”
Suzanne Spurgeon, speaker, media expert, communications trainer, and former CNN Vice President speaking on “Crafting your Media Message.”
Deborah Smith Pegues, author, speaker, CPA, Fortune 500 Vice President, and Bible teacher will discuss “A Crash Course in Becoming an Author.”
Marion Pyle, award-winning scriptwriter, producer, director and TV host will provide “Key PR Strategies for the Media Professional.”
Katie Nguyen, social marketing guru and Social Marketing Manager for Christian advertising firm FrontGate Media will teach members about “Authentic Social Media: Connecting Your Social Media Life with Your Real Life.”
Dorothy-Inez Del Tufo, author, speaker, and make-up artist will explain “How to have a Professional Brand that Speaks Before You Ever Say a Word.”
Denise Wacker, ordained minister, life coach, award-winning actress, author, speaker, singer, and songwriter will lead a discussion on “Casting Your Vision for 2016.”
The guest artist for the evening is Caroline Elizabeth Grace Goodwin.
