John Vegard Schow

John V Schow is an experienced composer and producer, and also an accomplished jazz pianist. He operates Make Music AS’ and ‘Make Music Publishing AS’ out of his studio outside Oslo. He is also the musical director and worship leader in the Oslo-based Church ‘MOS’ and is a lecturer in music at NLA University College in Oslo.

John V Schow was born and grew up in Oslo, Norway. He has been working as a professional musician, producer, songwriter and composer since 2001. He has a master’s degree in musicology from the University of Oslo and Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the The Grieg Academy. He has been touring several European countries with leading worship artists and has produced and arranged CDs for many Norwegian artists in his Make Music Studio.

Schow writes music in different genre; jazz, pop, gospel, worship, childrens music and music for film, theater and TV. He released his album BLÅTT HJERTE (Blue Heart) in 2013 with his jazzband the Schow Trio. On this album he presents his own music, traditional hymns and others instrumental music in their cool jazz style. With the Schow Trio they have toured in 2013 and 2014 to venues like concert halls and churches.

His music has been aired in many countries through the animation series the City Of Friends, where he also was in charge of the music productions and sound design for the 26 first episodes. The series, with his music, has been viewed on the BBC Channel 4, Cartoon Network, TV2 & TV4 among others, and in more than 180 countries.

He has a passion to create and loves to create together with others; music, film … ideas!
