Biography
Cherilyn Johnston is a singer/songwriter, arranger, and worship leader. She has presented the Good News in many styles, but her recent recording, “Out of Darkness”, is a country, western swing project, presenting favorite hymns and original songs in a joyful and refreshing sound. Cherilyn sings at churches, retreats, outdoor events, and conferences.
Cherilyn presently is the Band and Worship Leader at the Lone Star Cowboy Church in Red Oak, TX. In the last 15 years she has assisted in planting cowboy churches in Texas and Oklahoma. Reaching the lost and the strays for the Lord motivated her to record the country and western swing style. Currently independent DJs across the US, Europe and Asia have been playing her songs on their country music radio programs. Cherilyn believes there are many people that do not relate to the contemporary Christian style.
Cherilyn’s joyful, anointed music and testimony emphasizes our union with Christ because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Her life experiences with the faithfulness and grace of God, and a recent healing of cancer, encourages and challenges listeners to draw closer to the Lord.
Cherilyn is a graduate of Southwestern Assemblies of God University with BS in Sacred Music.
